Meet Your Expert Tour Guide
Aloha! I'm Miranda Clementel, and I'll be your Bee Safari guide!
My beekeeping journey began on a sunny morning in Florida when I was just 8 years old. From the moment I opened my first hive, my heart was captured, and I've been deeply fascinated by honey bees ever since.
As a teenager, I served as president of my town's beekeeping association, where I led monthly lectures and hands-on workshops for fellow beekeepers. I then went to the University of Florida to get my degree in food and resource economics. During that time I worked at my universities Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory, participating in honey bee research and specialized in queen rearing.
After more than 13 years of beekeeping, I am still amazed by the complexity and brilliance of honey bee colonies. I am excited to share my passion and knowledge with you on a Bee Safari. My goal is to make each tour a fun, educational, and personal experience. Together, we'll look inside a working hive, observe bees carrying out their daily tasks, and gain a deeper appreciation for this remarkable keystone species and its connection to the Hawaiian ʻāina.
I look forward to sharing stories, answering your bee questions, and creating unforgettable memories together amongst the bees in beautiful Hawaiʻi.
